Time to catch up!

Well since Thanksgiving things continue to get more busy, Colin is almost done with indoor soccer, and he, and Austin have both started upwards practice. This has been our busiest fall by far. The Christmas drama was a great success, all who participated did a great job, the choir was awesome and it was neat to see Michael and Jenae doing the lines. With Michaels busy work schedule, Jenae was actually feeding him lines during some practices. What an awesome family they have Julia and Johnathon also took part and did a wonderful job. As did Joshua Ryan Smith and Andrew Rafferty. It was also nice to see so many youth get involved. The more I get to know Pastor Dear, and Pastor Shawn the more I am glad God brought them and thier families to the Church. They join two of my favorite people who were already here. Anyway May God Bless you this Christmas season, and remember the reason we celebrate. P.S. Thank you Gina for doing a great job with Pastor Shawn in getting everything ready.

Thanksgiving

What a great thanksgiving, spent with friends and family. My lovely wife, and I spent early friday morning shopping for the boys, it was so much fun. Friday evening we hada couple of people over to watch a basketball game, about halfway through the evening I started feeling a little ill, by midnight, I was deep in the throws of possibly the worst virus I have ever had, it is Sunday morning and I am just starting to feel somewhat normal. My prayer is for nobody else to get this wicked virus, and if you should end up with it I pray for quick heeling. My fantasy football team has had a tough year, but I have won two in a row Jeff. In any case I pray that this Christmas season finds you and yours in good spirits, and may we all remember the reason for the season. May we draw near to he who was born to save us.

Hello it's me

Hello all, sorry it took so long to update, soccer is over not, colin will be playing indoor now. And then there is upwards, for both boys. Austin got to go hunting with Brandon Salyer, didn't get anything but almost, what a great guy, Austin really looks up to Corey and Brandon, a couple of great young men, great upbringing. Have really enjoyed Marks teaching in Jeffs class he has been a great sub. Sam, I have been thinking of you, and your procedure hope your healing well.
I read the Pastors last couple of Blogs, and couldn't agree more, as if kids that age didn't have enough to struggle with. I can't wait for the visitation program to start, it is a great way to reach people who visit quickly, and let them know we care, a former Pastor did this with great results.
I am so thankful for a Pastor who cares so much about reaching people.

Catching up!!

Well, revival went well, what a blessing to be a part of such a God honoring church, with God honoring leadership. Looking forward to what God is gonna do through those of us who choose to be obedient, and humble ouselves and pray. Got to play golf this last weekend, and what great weather. Played by myself on Friday and it was good, I found myself praying at different times during the round as I waited to hit my next shot, just talking to God, and doing what I don't always do best listening. God revealed himself that day through a peace he gave me, the breeze coming off the lake, the sonshine, the birds. The next day I had the priveledge to play with Pastor Shawn, and we took our sons along, and although it took awhile with the boys along, what a blast. A great time was had at the Salyers tail gate party, Sam and Jim won the cornhole championship, I think a rematch is in order. Then Sunday, great services and seeing my friend
Troy accept the call to be our youth Pastor. What are the chances of all these awesome things happening, with God 100%. Pray for LLoyd Carr, Michigans coach, he needs it, I glad I've come to the point in my life where I understand it is just football. That being said Go Blue, Go Akron.

Thanksgiving

I am in such awe, of how God is working in our church, I'm thankful for the leadership team God has put in Place. The past, is just that, past, and my family and I look forward to what God is going to do. Kris and I, and the boys, are thankful that Haley Smiths injury wasn't as bad as was first thought. There has been such a sweet spirit in service lately, and God is working in our midst. The youth group continues to grow in spiritual maturity, and God has provided some great youth workers to support a great Youth Pastor. His passion for teens is so evident, and yet when you hear him speak he is equally passionate about adults coming to know the Lord. Pray for Stefanie as she is looking for full time work, and pray for her transportation situation.
Michael, and Donna Georges nephew led in worship before Sunday School this morning, it was an awesome way to start the day, and Taylor is truly talented. Shawn, and Penny, with Zach, and Brianna, are finally all here and together. To me it seems as though they have been a part of our family for years. They have just fit in so nicely, and are so easy to get to know. God has inspired me to get more invloved in recreational areas in the Church, and I am organizing a golf outing, please pray that God will guide me in this endeavor. Isn't it nice that God has been adding some already spiritually mature Christians to our Church and how they are stepping up and leading, It is also nice to see Christians mature from within and step up and serve. May we continue to strive and focus on glorifying Gods name.

Thank you God, Sean

Back in the Hollar!

What a great week in Kentucky, serving God alongside a bunch of awesome young people, you really couldn't call them kids, because they acted like young adults. I'm so proud of our young people who went to Kentucky, they really showed what the love of God is supposed to be like.
I would be proud to call any of them my own, especially my own, Austin really came into his own on the trip, as did many of the younger youth. The older youth were awesome leaders by example. The adult leaders gave just the right amount of instruction to get things started each day. I am so thankful for Jason Roundtree, who took Austin, and helped him gain some confidence using tools, measuring, and using a power saw. He came home, and wanted to build something, anything. The way God protected us and provided for us was awesome, I really felt He was right there hammering with us. Again, I thank God for allowing me to be a part of serving alongside our youth, and the rest of the Team. As for Troy, this was his first trip, and he provided great leadership, I am thankful for the leadership he provided.

SUMMERTIME

Well baseball is over for the year, it was a good year, and lots of fun,Colins team wound up in second place, and beat the first place team, 2 out of 3 times during the year. It is so much fun to watch him play I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts. Austin of course continues to be a great little fisherman, and I get such joy when he catches a big one. He really studies up on when fish are biting that day and what they are likely to bite on. Pastor Shawn and Zach went with us one night and both caught some nice fish. Another great service Sunday and more people coming to know Christ for the first time. Tonight a bunch of us went and watched the fireworks it was a blast watching the kids light smoke bombs, Zach actually caught some smoke in a bottle. Well it's goodbye to the Georges for a month, sure will miss them. Sam and Amy continue to wait for the arrival of Joshua Ryan Smith, if they name him after Ryan Prater it is a good choice, as he is an awesome young man. Looking forward to the 4th and the mission trip, both should prove to be exciting. God Bless

with our new Worship Pastor leading a great service, the message was awesome, followed by the youth doing an outstanding job Sunday night, and a great message from Troy. Even monday wasn't bad, with my good friend Sam, calling me to inform me Amy was having a boy. Joshua
David Sean Smith, what a great name. Looking forward to meeting the little tyke, hope he realizes what great parents he has, looking forward to a great class fellowship Saturday.

Looking foward!

This month we can look forward to pastor Shawn coming, I wait with great anticipation for what God will do with Pastor Shawns ministry. I had the priviledge to hear Pastor Fredricks testimony, what an inspiration, when you look at how God has delivered him in so many situations. On a lighter note baseball, and fishing is going well, catching something whether were doing either. Austin loves to fish, and I get great joy when he catches a big one, Colin also loves to fish, and it is a lot of fun, when I get to spend time with the boys. Colins baseball team continues to do well and I love to watch him play. He gets his first start pitching tonight he does well for someone who has little experience. Remamber to pray for your pastors and thier families, as well as for God to place someone in front of you that you can witness to.

God bless Sean

Memorable Memorial Day Weekend

Kris had graduation so it was a boys night out Friday, fishing, movies, and games. Then Baseball
took over from Saturday, till Monday, with Colins team which is the youngest in the league with just two players from a year ago placed second. The other coaches and myself were so proud of the boys, and one girl on our team. Then on Monday afternoon Austin and I went golfing to get some much needed father son time, sorry Sam. Austin takes the game to serious, wonder where he gets that? hum. I played well, and shot one over par for the nine holes, it felt good after playing horrible Monday last, with the Pastors and Bill Russler. Any way lots to look forward to this Summer, golf, fishing, baseball, a mission trip, friends, and a new worship leader. Rejoice with the Salyers as Brandons tests came back with good news, God is good.

My Mom is Da bomb

My Mom is simply the best, she taught what Walker Texas Ranger talked about. By the time I was ten I could do my own laundry, cook for myself, clean any room in the house, mow the grass, sew on my own buttons, and how to be a gentleman. Thanks Mom for the significant tasks you gave me, they have served me well. She taught me the value of working hard, and treating others with respect. I owe her so much and she asks for so little, and she showed me unconditional love. Thanks Mom, words will never express my love for you, and all you've done for me. I'm a better person, because Peggy Ann Rockwell became my Mom!

Busy, Busy, Busy,

Spring sprung and our lives became really busy, between soccer, and baseball, fishing, and overtime, kids choir practice, and keeping up with home stuff, whew. However, God is good and has provided the time and energy to keep up so far. Colins farm team won tonight, he had to play his good friend Hunter Kirkpatricks team, and we won by one. Colin pitched the last inning and did great, the team hung on for the win and Colin got the game ball. I was so nervous/excited when he was out there, and so proud of him also, he really got out of a jam, and the team backed him up well. The youth spaghetti dinner was a huge success, and the church really stepped up, it is so great to part of such a great church. Anyway don't forget to pray for the pastors, and thier families, also for what God will do with you, as you are obedient to his word.

PEACE OUT

Excitement!

I could feel excitement in the church this last week as people became globaly focused, Kris has volunteered for the stowe center, and I felt the stirring for the first time about a mission trip, stay tuned as I pray about direction. Colin had his first farm games this weekend, he played in three games in Thornville. The team went 1 and 2, but the experience for our young team was great. Colin played shortstop, second base, and third base, he even pitched briefly and for the first time on a mound, with batters in the box , I thought he did well. The boys and I went fishing, and took one of his teamates who's parents are going through a messy divorce with us. We all caught something and had a good time, only when we were going home did I check my phone, it was Sam, I forgot I was going to help Pastor Dear move some things, oops sorry Pastor. Work continues to be busy, and now I have to work overtime Saturday, and will miss moving day, If it wasn't mandatory, I would say no. Continue to pray for a man named Scott McDonald he is searching for answers, another coach and I had the priveledge to pray with him on the third base line at a game Saturday. Anyway, continue to pray for our Pastors and thier families and the church as we go forward.

LOTS TO BE THANKFUL FOR!

A new worship Pastor, make sure at some point to thank all those who worked hard while the search went on. Thanks for a great search team, lots of hours, and time away from family went into this search. Global focus is finally here and I'm thanful for what God will do through his people when they are obedient. Thankful for Family, immediate, and my extended church family. What a great way to start spring, when God makes all things new. Colin scored the first two goals of his brief soccer career, of course I was working OT and missed it, what is that song by Casting Crowns called thankfully he's eight and will probably score again sometime. I am looking forward to golf, I have been tuning up on the range at work and things are staring to take form, now it's time to take it to the course. My friend Sam started his new job this week, and I wish him the best. Oh well hope to see all of you at global focus this week, God bless

Awesome weekend!

What a great weekend, Jim P. did not have a heart attack, praise Jesus, got to meet who I pray will be our new worship Pastor, his wife, and family. I thought he was great, and would be a great addition to an already great staff. Just got back from fishing with the boys, Colin caught a nice bass, and we all caught something, Colin had the trophy fish today though. I would like to see some warmer weather so I could play some golf, anything under 60 and I stay home. Kris, and Amy went to bunco Friday, so Sam came over for pizza me Sam and the boys jumped in the hot tub for awhile, and wanted to play Tiger Woods golf, but it was at the Georges, so we crashed the Georges and got to meet Shawn and Penny ahead of time. Lets pray this week for Gods will to be accomplished in the vote this week. Don't forget to pray for the Pastors, and thier families.

Great Easter/ More to come.

What fantastic news for our Church over 800 in services, Baptism, and Salvation. Thank you Jesus, and now, a great weekend ahead with a prospective worship Pastor coming. Easter lunch was fantastic, and a Christian man won The Masters and gave glory to Jesus for being his help during the times he was most nervous. The weather needs to break now, and let golfing begin again, so much for global warming. Remember to pray for the Pastors, and thier families during this busy stretch coming up, pray specifically for God to give them extra strength and wisdom. Also pray for all the other leaders in the Church I believe God has great things in store for FBCH, we need to keep our eyes on the prize.

Golf finally,

I finally got to break out the clubs, Sam Smith and I went to Granville Golf Course Saturday, although it raine the last 5 holes it was still fun. Sam made some strides with his game, hit his new irons well, still needs to improve with his driver, and he will. My game was hot and cold, 1 good, 1 so, so, one bad typical for the first round. The boys and I also got to fish together Friday, Austin caught the most as usual. Then today Austin fished most of the morning, while I stayed home, and waited for the plumber to get here to find where the water in the hall closet was coming from. Thankfully it was just a leak coming from the water line going into the fridge, could have been something much worse, thank you Lord. I would ask that you would pray for my Brother Kerry, he has been living in his car, been arrested for failure to appear, and has an infection in his Jaw, I believe in miracles and believe that is what it will take to save him now. I know the Bible doesn't specifically say not to drink, however I'm not sure what good could come from drinking. Pray for my mom, as this continues to be a tough thing for her to deal with.

Great Weekend!

What a great weekend topped off with ice cream, the first baseball practice, wild game dinner.
A great Sunday School followed by a great worship service, and a great job by Troy Sunday night. The great news about a new worship Pastor possibility, thank you God, and thank you search team for following Gods leading. I left service juvenated , and thankful for the way Jesus saved me, and left me instructions for Christian life. I'm thankful for Christian friends
I can turn to when I struggle, and a Godly Pastoral staff and their families, don't forget to lift them up in prayer, including the Pastor canidate and his families. Keep your feet clean.

Another manic Monday

With golfing season fast approaching, work has become a madhouse, putters, irons, drivers wedges. It will be this way for sometime, busy makes the day go by quick though. The boys and I got to spend the day together Saturday as Kris was making up a snow day, we ate Chinese,
and watched movies. Got to lift weights Saturday, Sam S. went with me, let's just say he's a little sore, he probably did a little to much for not having lifted in awhile, he did not however complain. Global focus week is fast approaching and I am looking forward with great anticipation
to what God is going to do. Remember to pray for the Pastors and their Families.

Spring has sprung(maybe)?

Wow, a whopping 75 today, got to hit golf balls at work. Then the boys and I went fishing when I got home. Baseball/Soccer has started, and I am looking forward to Colins first year in farm baseball. Austin was the only one to catch anything today, and that was at the river, when we went to Buckeye lake, nothing. Lunch Sunday with friends at Puerta Viarta, not such a great thing, don't get me wrong the company was great, but something I ate did not agree with me, wound up sick on the couch. Found out some good friends are having a boy (maybe, probably) Zebediah Zachius Smith, now that name jumps out and grabs you, come on admit it Sam. looking forward to Global focus week at the Church, pray for all involved.

To Busy! but spring on the way

So upwards ends, yippee! but now it's soccer/baseball, fishing, and Kris has three Saturdays
at work. Calgon take me away, Looking forward to the Global focus celebration, should be a great week for the life of FBCH. To much sickness going around both kids have now had viruses
and Colin had influenza. Pastor's family have all been sick, the Smiths have had sickness including Amy's dad. But still the Lord is good and will lead us through the valley to the mountain top. Starting to look forward to golf season, warm sunshine, green fairways, the perfect drive, iron shot and put, birdie anyone, maybe eagle. The sweet smell of pollen achoo,
almost forgot allergy season. Oh well worth it if it means warmness, even if it means cutting grass, wait a minute Austin is 12 now, yahoo.

Tuesday, February 27, 2007

Prayer please.

Another year of upwards is over and once again my overcompetivness got the better of me on a couple of occasions, what was it Paul said about doing the things you don't want to. It was a better year but I have a long way to go. I love giving testimonies at halftimes but what good could come of it if I blow my stack afterwords over something so trivial. Saturday was a great day, spending the day with a friend and his awesome little girl. One of my friends turned 39 on Monday and I missed his cake and ice cream trying to get our son ready to go to D.C. He loves history so seeing all the stuff on his itinerary will be a blast for him especially anything to do with WWII, pray for them to have safe travel and remember to pray for our Pastors and their families.

HELP ME LORD!

After a trying weekend, the week has started in the same manner, only Tuesday, and I'm wiped
out already. I love my job, these weeks are tough though, supervising production as we start the busy season, and helping teach the school makes for a long day. The Lord is good though and gives me strength to carry on. Things would be much tougher if not for the strength God provides. One week of upwards left, the season has gone by fast, not fast enough for Pastor Wally though. Pray for those who have heard the good Word at a game this year that God would change their life, how anyone could hear the good news and choose otherwise still confounds me.
Perhaps I've forgoten what it's like to have those doubts, or fear of rejection, from who though, a world in which I'm just a number, a consumer, a taxpayer. Thank you GOD

MEMORIES!

Today, for the first time since I started working for the Golfworks, we went home early,
it was a blessing, I've heard my friends Jeff S. and Sam S. made it home safely, Thank you God.
Kris and the kids were off today and the boys came in soon after I got home, they had been snowboarding. That brings back memories from when I was little, walking to moundbuilders
and sledding, shoveling snow for vacation money, and going to Woolworths for hot chocolate afterwords. The giant snowmounds they would pile up in the court, king of the hill, snowball fights with the whole neighborhood involved, iceskating around the block, street hockey. Now I just hole up inside and read, and hibernate, wanted to sled tonight but it's to wet, oh well. Gods speed if you have to drive tommorow.

Monday, February 12, 2007

another great weekend

Went to Columbus Friday and got the new cover, and filter, for the hot tub, can't wait to use it. Upwards was great again, but I'm getting exited about having a Saturday free here soon, maybe go to a movie with the family. Austin had a great game, as did Colin who got most Christlike for passing the ball instead of shooting when the game was on the line, they tied.
Got to ref four games, and got to share at halftime of a game, I hope next year more people from the Church get involved. Sunday Jeff Salyer was in Canada, and we missed him, however Billy Andrews taught connect group and did a great job, he would make a great teacher of His own class, if God so leads. Sunday night was awesome, I am thankful for such a Godly man leading the Church here in Heath, what an inspiring message about confession.

Monday, February 5, 2007

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND!

What fun Friday night was, the men whipped the women in battle of the sexes, naturally. Great
fellowship and food, and lots of laughs. What a priveldge to share time with such great christian people. Then another full day of upwards basketball, Colins team tied and I think he had about 10 points, Austins game was cancelled due to a schedule snafu, I love my kids and love to watch them compete athletically, but, what parent doesn't. Another great youth worker fellowship Saturday, more food, friends and fellowship. Thought I would update since Sam was complaining, although he hasn't updated in two weeks now.

Tuesday, January 30, 2007

Winter, finally!

Walking in a winter wonderland, now this is more like it, snow, cold, dead bugs. We need a good 3 to 4 inch snow so we can go sledding, and so Kris can get a snow day. Looking forward to class
fellowship this Friday, should be alot of fun hope everybody likes candyland. If not Sam and I will have to play alone. What a priveledge it's been to be able to share devotions on saturdays
during upwards, so many people get to hear something about God, something of substance, maybe for the first time, what a great outreach for the Church. Thank you God.

wow!

look everybody I can blog.
